HAHA...Was it a high tone ?

that's pretty cool. All I ever find in change are Canadian coins

In a drive-thru no less! Next they will be delivering it to you at home!

Can honestly say I have never gotten a Buffalo nickel in change before. Good for you.

Indeed...I have yet to dig one...so yes..that would be very cool find in the change !

Cool! Getting older coins in change is always fun.

That is amazing. Closest I got in change was a 1946 Jefferson. :unhappysmiley:

No baloney...SOMEWHERE in my daily travels last fall someone gave me a beautiful 1943 Mercury dime as change...and did not realize it until I emptied my pockets out on to the dresser that night. Tried to mentally backtrack to remember where I had been all day but..to no avail. If I had remembered I most certainly would have gone back there begging for their loose change. thx!...ddf

Kind of funny. With soooo many different formats for coins coming out, Gold Dollars, State Quarters (some with buffaloes on them :) ). I'm not all that shocked to see old coins filtering back to circulation. They go unnoticed. LOL

Nice one!

yes, and with the economy so bad, some people are spending the old coins they have saved for years. lots of possibilities of how it got into circulation, but it's got a new home now

Oh, I agree. Hard times forces a lot of things. But, with the awareness that people have nowadays, of anything that might be worth more than face value. These coins may get back into circulation, but since there's so many different coins now, they hide better than they might have before. A buffalo nickle would jump up and say howdy to anyone looking at a handful of coins before. Now, with buffaloes on quarters/nickels etc. Not so much. It takes a somewhat keener eye to realize now that this coin doesn't belong. This is a good thing. For us. :)

I just bought a Morgan and a Peace dollar from a fellow at work that worked at a burger joint years ago. He said a little old fellow came in and bought fries and a soda with them!
Congrats Jeweler. I always look at my money too.:coffee2:
