I am still new....forgive any missteps. I do want to post this as recently found (at dusk). Tell me I'm not crazy and this is the real thing. Oh and is it day able, and what do you need to find to prove it a settlement (if I'm not crazy). Forgive my excitement but this all seems crazy. I signed up on the forum, took dog for a walk, staring at the ground.....and here we are. image.webpimage.webpimage.webp

"Keep it coming gents....and ladies. I am eager to hear from all, even the little voices in my head". Me thinks..... here lies the true origin of these lost rocks !

One of the best ways to know if you have a "worked by man" piece is to study how known examples look and are supposed to look. After doing this you will come to recognize more easily whether you got a rock worked by nature or one done by man. You gotta study up on it, especially if you are interested in collecting artifacts and even being a rock hound.....you got to know what you are looking for.

All those are wocks used by early man to frow at wabbits. Made 100% by nature. Nice finds though.:icon_thumleft:

Much thanks to all who posted. I know I'm new, I appreciate the time taken to respond. I recently made contact with an anthropology professor and he set me straight. I was right, they are stone tools, they just happen to be a few thousand years old and not generally found in my neck of the woods. I've found a few fossilized bone tools and nearly 1000 other assorted tools/points. Hopefully in the next few months we will be able to release the story of the find and location. First they want to perform a general survey to assess the need for a dig. Thanks again all, I'll post more news as I get it if anyone is interested.

Rock On

I didn't catch this thread last year, but the original rock in your hand in your first post looks like a fossil to me. Your pic's were not very thorough.
As soon as I saw this recent post, I could tell that picture on the top left was a bone. I don't think all your rocks/stones were altered by man tho.
Pictures of all angles are important. Good Luck with your rock hunting.
