checked out the field today for the first time in 2011

first time to drive out to the field today
could not get close but walked to the edge of the grass which borders the edge of the field
stood there about 10 minutes and could see i couldn't even take one step into the muddy field
but lucky enough i saw a moss agate scraper/spoke shave and a fishing weight, both within my reach
i thought this was a lucky thing for the short time involved and these two artifacts lying less than 4 feet from my boots

Great find's Steve, good to see you back out there looking. That is a good looking scrapper/spoke shave. That is a great fishing weight, I really like those.

That is just awesome. You didn't even take a step into the field and found two killer artifacts. Very cool!!!

I can just imagine what is going to be laying out from being exposed over the winter once you can get in there. You better take a 5 gallon bucket to carry it all out. lol

i have a few of those type scrappers and am looking for a name i heard years ago indian or foreign, did not sound english to me. i have never found a grooved stone fishing or bolo stone they are hiding from me..

I totally agree....Steve you have an amazing field, don't even get your shoes dirty and come up with artifacts... ....great finds, can't wait to see what you find this year...need a bigger drool bucket, lol...goat
