This is most likely a modern piece. It's made of hard stone, probably granite or something similar.
Nevertheless, you're a great person for taking the risk of acquiring such an item. I hope you didn't spend a lot of money.
I've been fascinated by millstones my whole life. I had millstones from the Jin Dynasty, the Jurchen Dynasty, 10th-12th centuries. But it's very difficult to date these pieces; they could have been made much earlier. No one can say for sure.
Currently, I have three millstones on my property: two round ones weighing 100 kg each, and one smaller, about 20 kg. I found them in an old, ruined watermill. This mill disappeared in the 19th century. When the millstones were made is a mystery.

thank you for your response and yes i now get the picture how many there are. didn´t pay much and sold it for more so no problems. Do you know anything about chinese jade? I have made a new post here about a possible shang dynasty jade.
