Well we got some rain and "strong" winds here last night with gusts of up to 25 miles an hour!!!!!!


Scary stuff! (sarcasm intended).

So we should get a little more today and tomorrow and then it is supposed to clear out.

The tropical storm came through here late last night and it rained sideways for a couple of hours. Then the wind laid and it just turned into light rain off and on. No damage here. Glad to hear the River Rat and Noodle are Ok. Looks like a really crazy hurricaine season this year with one right after another. It's all that skunk Al Gore's fault. Trying to fool Mother Nature with that Gloal warming BS. What about you Nana, are you in a flood area? I'm surprised we didn't get any more rain than we have so far. They were forecasting 8 to 10 inches , but so far just light rain and drizzle. I got my fingers crossed. Well, I feel relieved now and just waiting for the sunshine to come back. M nty

I'm here! No flooding here! Got a great breeze for three or four days, which is unusual for us, and a great relief from the heat...right, Burdie!

Hey Noodle. Charlie and I were talking last week about what your driveway must be like after allll that rain!!

Great to see the LA bunch checking in. I'll call Judy in just a bit and see how she's fairing today.

Well I'm back on the net! RR just called and she is sick of the rain and I can't blame her.She has trees down but getting them cleared eventually with the rain.She has no power and expects it to be out for 2 weeks.She does have a generator going for some items.The shed roof is leaking now but that appears to be the only material damage.Just has debris everywhere.She said she hasn't been able to check with Charlie(Cheesecake) or anyone else in that area.It's rained hard here yesterday,last night and still goin',suppose to let up later today.RR didn't know about the other 'canes on the way,she can only get the local stuff and all they are talking about is where to get food and water,no real news.If I hear anything else,I'll post.

Glad to be hearing good reports from everyone. If the creek don't rise I guess we can relax a little? It clouded up here for two and a half days and now we are having intermitant sunshine this afternoon. It was supposed to dump 8 to 10" of rain but only had light rain and mist and fog. It got down into the high 50s last night though and today we have the house open and airing out. The high today is supposed to be in the 70s. Really feels nice after the 90 degree heat we have been having. Take care all and......how many days did you say? Monty

Well its back up in the low 80's today tonight high 50's and tomorrow back to the heat!

Still cant wait til we hear from the other missing friends, and it is so great if we cant get ahlod of Judie shes calling each of us its great we can all keep tabs on her just wish we knew about like say CHEESECAKE among others!

Judie called we only got to talk for a bit before we got cut off! But they are doin fine she went after gas was in line for over 2 hours, she said in town they are handing MRE's but she said she told Alden they didn't need any they had food and plenty of water but as we got cut off I think she said she'd picked up some anyway!
The hard part is waiting in line for gas.
Hopefully she will call me back in a bit Alden has the phone (cell which is in and out) she was on the front porch to call me, he now is on back porch by the generator.

Well, the creek rose! BOY, did it!

Barricades all across the front of the property from west of the bridge to east of our driveway. Two vehicles went floating off the road today, but both of them were from an Alz patient east of here who first decided to go from east of town to Archibald to buy something in Mangham. He floated the car down the road and then away it went off to the south. At which point he somehow got back to his house and brought his other vehicle down the same route. Once again, away he went to the south. At that point, the parish put up barricades.

Tonight Dan and I decided to go out and look at the road. There we encountered 3-4, then 5-6, then more vehicles just curious. One thing turned into another, and first thing you know, it's a party. For 2 hours, we watch the vehicles slowly come through the water, leaving wake. At one point I walked through it to see how deep it was. Over a foot, with a flow... a good flow.

A good experience.

BTW: Sarah is something else.
