Re: "CHISHOLM TRAIL HUNT 2008" Brand the calendar October10-12th for CTH2
Hey Y'all! Noodle here!
Well the water went down, but someone asked about the height.
Remember when you went down by the bridge to hunt up in the woods? You were looking for the "lost" keys, but you remember my hunting stand that was down there? All that was under approximately 15 feet of water. No lie. Sitting in that stand last fall, I had to look "up" to see the headlights on the roadway. The stand is 14 feet high, and the roadway was under water about a foot. Amazing, huh?
ME, believe it or not, my driveway was FINE! Had some mud puddles, but nothing unusual. It was the land between my driveway and the bridge that went 'under.'
Still have relatives in Baton Rouge with no power. Latest word, maybe some areas out for another month. I cannot imagine that. I'm buying a generator this week to at least provide us with water.
RickyP and River Rat, come see us if you get disgusted. At least we have power.
Rayville, Archibald and Mangham got 20" of rain. Left for church this morning, went left out my driveway for 4 miles, got to the Big Creek bridge and had to turn around and come back. Closed. Barricaded. Still some bad spots around. Folks had to be rescued by boat out of Mangham (next town to the south where you guys bought ice). They're still flooded in. Gus is still not done with in Louisiana.

Don't even TALK to me about Ike...
