Hey Y'all,

Back at the library, at least they have internet connections today. Beats the heck out of the dial up, I'm thinking seriously of getting the dial up connection temporary, just so I have something at home. I did talk with Charter Communications last night and they stated they're working on the problems...there's more downed lines than you can imagine. What the electric companies fixed, is just a major portion just to get people back with power, but they're still in the area to make more permanent adjustments.

Well, the love bugs are still bugging the dickens out of me, but I really need to quit complaining and be thankful I have a roof over my head. There's many, many more who don't even have a home to go back to...all of the coastal areas are still flooded, more so since Ike. The flooding has exceeded what Gustav flooded.

"Lumberjack Mac" has been cutting the downed trees in the yard...got plenty of firewood from the oaks that uprooted. Still have not been able to check the fences in the woods due to high water.

I'm really getting antz in my pantz with the hunt getting closer and closer, that's why I'm feeling lost without cable/internet. If it wasn't for the hunt, I believe it would be less anxiety for me.

If you never been to Caldwell here are some pics of importance. The first picture is main street. Just kidding. Coming from South Haven on Hiway 81.

The second picture if you look to the left of the bridge is the lane to the hunt.

The third picture is at the enterence to the hunting site. You just follow the lane till you see the parking area.


From the second picture. Go two blocks from the bridge and turn left. Then go one and a half blocks and you will see our meeting place.

I'm still at the library. I got the pics downloaded, had to shrink each individual one, and still don't know if they'll fit here. They do not have the same photo program I use, so I could not adjust the darkness/lightness or zoom like I wanted, so here goes...

This is the last of the pics...the blob floating in the water is fireants. Some of the pics are of the farm house, our house and at the uncle's at the end of the road. The pic of the horse "Ginger" is at my uncle's property, you can see my house in the background. This is the aftermath of Gustav and Ike with some lovebugs included.

I'm tired...Billy was nice to help me get the photos on here. Hi de ho, off to home I go.

Girl! Ya'll got quite a mess to clean up down there. GREAT that you could get all those pictures posted from the library! You did good. When I saw the 'blob' in the water, I thought maybe it was a bunch of piss ants on a cow patty! AND THE bugs! That's a bunch of love bugs, Juju!~ Take care and great to see you able to post a bit.

And Burdie..those pictures you posted are fondly familiar.

RR,
I sure recognized that floating ball! I've seen that lots of times here during flooding and it still grosses me out! Fireants suck!!
On the positive side, you've got plenty of firewood for the winter but I don't know what you'll do with all the pines! At least none of them came in the house to visit!

Good luck on the cleanup, I know ya'll have been working hard and wish it was over!!!

Judie those are some awsome pics you were able to post , it is so unbeliveable to see the way the trees are twisted! And yes I can tell for sure just how humongus those things are, I want to know too did ya get rid of the ants and not let them on dry land? And yep the bugs are they same ones we have here that we call push me pullums. They have not been that bad here in along time! Talk to you again soon!

I just wanted to say howdy and to introduce a little jar of some of my most prized finds. I talked with burdie and he said that I could try this out. In the following pictures is a ball jar stuffed with some of my most prized finds. I will bring this with me and give you a chance to study it Friday and Saturday. I will get back with burdie but my thought was to guess the number of finds in the jar the closes without going over would win the green jar, all the prized finds and a little token of my appreciation. Oh, yea I have sit and counted pieces in the jar and there will be a number in a sealed envelope. Before I post pictures......any input?

Greg,that's a great gesture,however,you really should think about it.Think down the road a ways when you want to display what you have found over the yrs.That accumulation is what most detectorist are striving for.I know I would not feel right in accepting them.But I understand your desire to make a great donation that includes everyone with a chance to win.And then again,maybe I'm all wet and not appriceative enough.I just hate to see you give up your treasures, and they are,or you would not have kept them.This is just my own opinion and I know it's not worth much.To each his own.And if you do this,I want to say 'Thank You'.

Congrats on the new machine Scrounger! That thing has GOT to be pretty incredible from all I have heard and from the price tag. I have not even seen one yet. Let us know how awesome it is!
