Circle-decorated, Pierced, Pewter Object.

Hi All,
Could this be some kind of Jewellery? Its Grayish (now) in colour, so I'm thinking Pewter. It weighs 20.8g The diameter across the widest part almost 4cm. 2 sets of double circles on one side, nothing on the reverse.
It showing some 'rust' staining at the pierced part - Could have looked good hanging around the neck
Here are the pics:










Found in stubble field where I found the Elizabeth I Half-groat last year.
Any ideas?

Not jewelry. Looks like a patch box cover, but my guess is inkwell cover, possibly from a school desk..

Yep I would say most definately the ink well lid. the rust is caused by the ferrous base pin that went through the hole connecting the lid to the lower half.
