I believe you found a piece of chalcedony quartz. Chalcedony quartz: The mineral Chalcedony information and pictures It is considered a semiprecious gem stone and is found in many forms and colors. I have some pieces I picked up along the way that I line around a flower garden in the yard with other interesting rocks I've picked up . Yours looks as if it had eroded in a river, stream, glacier? over a period geologic time. Yes! Rocks are fun to seek out. They are the very first thing in my life I found enjoyment in looking for.
