Civil War bullet ID HELP. Triangle base

Can someone please help me ID this bullet? First one I've found like this. Hunting in CW camp. This one was surrounded by round balls and 3 ringers in close vicinity.

Yep that what you have, a French Dragoon or as some people call it,a French triangle bullet. Is it a drop or has it been shot? I would say that it could be a high base,but not an extra high base I don't believe. Not really sure what a good price would be on it,as I have not bought one in a while,Jonathon.

Mississippi. I was thinking it was carved, thanks for the confirmation. Thought it would be odd if it fired that way.

Kind of looks like it was carved into a game piece... possibly a pawn for chess? :icon_scratch:

I would have said carved and then stuffed on a broken triangular bayonet but I like the other explanations better (:
