Civil war bullet?

I found this today and it was close to a know civil war spot. It has 2 rings any help.

If its copper jacketed,no dice.Looks like a .25 or a .32.Its obviously been fired so that makes me think it might be a full metal jacket round.Theres very little damage to the nose of the bullet.

Unfortunately, it is definitely from sometime after the civil war. There's no matchup for it in any of the collectors' reference-books on civil war bullets, and I haven't seen one like in my nearly 40 years of dealing in civil war bullets.

If you want to pursue its ID, we need you to use a caliper to measure its diameter in hundredths-of-an-inch (as shown in the photo below).

Whenever you see those vertical lines in the grooves you know it's post-Civil War. I find a lot of those bullets at one of my spots. Mine are .45 caliber and they're probably WWI era or earlier.
