Been absent, as I was forced to go back to work. But did manage to dig a big this weekend! Fingers crossed, hoping these are Civil War finds. Some videos and pictures we look at, I say yes. Others point toward modern. They were found in an area that had high activity from troops on the ground as well as the river. Someone tell me something good! 090E0A77-4545-4B51-985A-2273EEB1B1F4.webpD1BFA828-16D3-48F7-9868-C5855FC0D5C1.webp

This one I want to say may be more modern, but my imagination says carved civil war bullet lol

They look post-war to me.

I’m sorry but, those all appear to be modern bullets. Keep hunting if you’re on a civil war site.

First and second ones are modern. The third one could be older but without precise measurements it will be hard to correctly ID it.

Well boo. They were in the same field as the 3 ringer so we were being hopeful! It's so hard to ID these things. I guess it just takes lots of hands-on experience. Still had a good time and found some other stuff I need to clean and ID. Our 7 year old came out and helped with the digging, so it was still a good time!

as stated above they are modern . but the good news is you got them out of the way so you won't ever dig them again.
you gotta dig some trash to find some treasure..

There are a few books you can buy out there for correct Civil War bullet identification. When I dig the Civil War sites, it's common to find modern bullets as well as the old ones.
