Beautiful lead!!!! Congratulations

This spot has 99% dropped bullets, my favorite.

Nice!!!!! Congrats!!!!!

People ask me what my favorite CW item to find is, and I always answer a bullet. The reason for this is because bullets are something of a "least common denominator" and a more likely find than, say a Confederate button. So the sentence "let's go get just Confederate buttons today", just doesn't make a lot of sense.

Well done on the bullets Smokey.
Query: As I know little to nothing about the Civil War-and you get so many dropped bullets from this spot. I ask why are there so many drops?

Pepperj, there are many more Civil War camps, picket posts, traveled roads, general merchandise stores and homes the troops visited than battlefields. If one searches out the camps, homes, etc. most of what you find are drops. On battlefields, it's mostly fired bullets with some drops mixed in.

Looks like you have a .54 Gardner there.

Very nice drops Smokey! I'm with you, I do love them bullets.

nice lead recoveries! way to go
