Civil War or not?

You can get brass stampings, like this from dixie gun works, union city, Tenn. You can fill with lead your self, for reenacting uniforms, other types also.

It looks more Span-Am period than civil war to me. I'm not sure it isn't a repro though. I don't really like the way the wires are attached. Where did you get it? This isn't my area of expertise though so I might be wrong about it being a repro.
