Hello! These are a few curious finds I made while on a MD trip in Mississippi. They are from a battlefield with no known homestead or farm fields. They were found with the other relics in the group photo. All three are iron and were cleaned with electrolysis and restored to some degree (it's a new process to me). The first one appears to be a tent stake(?) and was originally longer as it shows being broken on the end. The head appears to have been hammered on quite a bit. The other two, I have no idea. Many thanks!

Nice finds. I have a similar tent stake. Did you get any confirmation from other sources. The one i have is nearly a foot long. Gona post in a day or so.

Many thanks! No, unfortunately I do not have any kind of reliable confirmation yet that it is indeed a tent stake and don't know where to turn for any. My plans to build a display case for all of my CW relics have been on hold hoping for an answer. I suppose the problem is that it could be almost anything, but i do lean heavily towards it being a stake. I look forward to comparing it to yours.

Love that breastplate and iron:thumbsup:

Many thanks! I can't describe my joy about these finds. Finding the breastplate left me speechless. I returned a couple of months later for a second hunt and recovered a few more rounds and two canister shots.
