As promised,

Here are the before and after pics of the U.S. "Navy" button that I found. It actually, upon viewing it more, turned out to be a U.S. Marine button......which is all the better with me because they are abit more harder to find :wink: Thanks for looking!

WTG OORAH!! That button was probably lost at Tuns Tavern. Tuns Tavern was the founding place of the Marine Corps. Imagin that ;D

Hey Merf, I used the peroxide method, a touch of electrolysis, and some aluminum jelly to finish it off :wink:

Thanks CivilMan, this button is one of the better gilted buttons that I have found in awhile......Hope you have been tearin it up..up there in Boonsboro :wink:

Thanks Jim! I hope you have been doing alright. I actually could have cleaned up the rest of the crust but I thought that the little left on the face of the button helped accentuate the eagle and anchor.

Thanks my good bud Kyle!! Again, this find was about 400 yards from water.... :wink: :wink: ;D ;D Ole John was on to something HAHA :wink:
