My twelve year old daughter Melissa was bored :-\ so I convinced her to come along looking for Treasure for my first time this year ;D. Went to a couple of playgrounds, very windy and cold out, found lots of junk, toy car, bus token, trinkets, paint can opener and some clad. Then she gave the detecter a shot and found a steel ring and an aluminum ring, shes hooked. Also found button marked 1988?
When we got home one of my brother in laws was there (drugee) He was trying to sell me some Iraqi money. Story, his brother (not drugee-military) served three terms in Iraq and came accross this coin set brought it home after last term and gave it to him as a keepsake. He then tries to sell to me for $50. After I declined his offer and gave him a couple of beers he gave them to me :D. Still trying to find time to research them, but glad my first hunt of the year ended descent.

Thanks Ed D., But I cannot find the exact one on ebay or internet. Appears to be laminated by hand with sticky laminant. Also, it included a novelty type map. I will post a pic of the map tinight.

No, not the exact one. But the coins are the same. I suspect the one you have was for sale in Iraq and promoted the king in all his glory days. This might make it worth even more. You know not being made anymore. I think it is a keeper for at least a few years.

I just came back in the last month and those coin sets are sold in all the Hagi shops at the bases over there I bought same for my kids and grandchildren. Hope this helps but you should hang on to it.

Good hunting,
Jack

Jack, Just out of curiosity, what did they cost, and was it the same card backing as show by chrisplay2004 above.

Thanks,

Ed D.
