Bounty Hunter Quick Silver,Tesoro Silver Sabre uMax.
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
Hit my local park today. 16 cents in clad, a Remington Express shotgun shell. A couple eating lunch and then getting into an argument. A teenager with them setting off firecrackers. At least 10 minutes after the firecrackers stopped the police show up, 3 local cruisers and a state trooper. I immediately stop my searching, turn off my detector and point it at the ground. I walk toward a picnic table so I can set it down when an officer holding an assault rifle across his chest comes into view. I call out "metal detector, metal detector" and lay it down on the table. He then asks if I heard shots and I tell him the little punk they have in the parking area could have saved them the trouble about the "shots" by taking responsibility. By the way, this park has several playgrounds, all in use, and an elementary school across the field. Who the hell doesn't tell the police right up front there were no shots? Anyway, hunt cut short but at least we don't have trigger happy police officers and I live to hunt again.

kinda scary to think that the cop coulda got nervous and drew down on you with his rifle

Which NFL team does he play for?:laughing7:

Hmm, thought it was a family Christmas party by the title.

glad it turned out good!

With all the police involved shootings lately I wasn't taking any chances, pointed it down, identified it, laid it down and took a couple steps back.

Very smart thinking!

Be careful if yours detector is black. With the current intellectual level in politics it will be deemed an assault detector. At the very least they will want to limit the size of your coil and demand the battery capacity be lowered.

Good thing you didn't pull out your pin pointer!
