CladSmoke CRH Log

Searched a brinks box of cents. Found about 15 Canadians, most of them dated in the mid 60s.
7-wheats. Oldest was a 1940. The shiny one is a 56-D.

Man, that 56 looks really nice! HH, Maverick.

$90 is CWR of halves and 3 loose halves.

Came from a roll, the loose were all clad.

The 1967 in this pic kind of looks like a DDO. I'm not sure, but it looks that way to me...

Also searched a CWR box of dimes today. No silver, but I did find a 71-S and a 73-S, so I guess that's ok. That was my third box of dimes, have yet to find any silver doing dimes. Thanks for checking my out my log. HH

Anytime. I hope it is a DDO! Hopefully worth a big chunk of change!

This is a Chinese coin. It's worth about 1.4 cents if I'm doing the math right. Renmin or Renminbi is more or less a translation of 'the people's money'.

Clad - you're finding a ton a nice stuff. Good work.

Hey thanks man. If you could pass that along to my fiancé, maybe she would not despise CRH so much lol

That is a 5 "jiao" coin, which is worth half a "yuan". The "yuan" is the standard unit of Chinese currency, which is officially called "Renminbi". Your 5 "jiao" coin at today's exchange rate is worth about USD $0.08 (one "yuan" is worth about USD $0.16).

Below is a breakdown on the Chinese units of currency:

10 "fen" = 1 "jiao"
10 "jiao" = 1 "yuan" (which is abbreviated on exchange rate tables as "RMB", for RenMinBi)

Also, just FYI, colloquially the "jiao" is often referred to as "mao", and the "yuan" is called "kuai". I think they do this just to drive us laowai (foreigners) nuts!

Dumped 1K in nickels at 2 different banks today. Picked up 4 boxes of nickels and a box of cents. Also had a teller say she had $60 in halves in the vault. I only had an extra $20 and bought two, she said she would hold them for me until I came back in (gift cards go a long way fellas). Found the below in the 2 rolls. Also picked up $3.50 in loose clad halves. HH
