My fossil buddy bought some old boxes from a deceased man's collection. It had quite a few broken points and pottery pieces mixed in with the fossils. All were purported to be from Ocala/Gainesville, Florida. These 2 clay figurines were in it and he gave them to me. They are both damaged and the one with the silly hat is a whistle that still works. I don't think they are of Florida origin but he had put catalog numbers on everything in the boxes so I think he found them somewhere. I like them & if anyone has any clues to their origin chime in.

There are some that believe there was an Aztec presence in Florida at one time or minimally there was trade to Florida. Maybe look into Aztec pottery.
