A couple of years ago I found a shako insignia in Europe. It is pretty fragile, and already in about seven pieces. Does anyone have ideas about how to preserve it. I was thinking about putting it in a shadow box, but I'm worried about brass rot eating it up.

Maybe try VERDI-CARE.. Should work on it..

I use Royal jelly wax to coat everything . And so far it has done very well for me.

It is costly compared to the normal wax , but it goes a very long way as in just a little at a time will do the job.
The good thing about this wax is that it will not dry out and crack like the lesser wax and it does not have any chems in it from wax made from Oil products , paraffin I think is what the Oil base wax is called .
