Clear roll dime tips

I've done the clear rolls in the past but Mainly do paper rolled ones.

My dime source bank just switched armored service and now I'm going to be doing primarily clear rolls. Is there a better way to see the really dirty silvers? Ie type of light ect?

Bright light and 10x magnification. Set aside the suspect rolls and you should be able to plow through the rest in a few minutes. You should easily be able to flip the boxes multiple times a day.

Yeah, I've got a tip for you: don't do them! I have never found silver in clear dime rolls.

I've found several, silver canadian, roosies, and even mercs in the clears. It's there, just not as much.

My experience differs. I'm sure you've seen my Cigar Box photo with the dimes in glass cigar tubes? Every one of them was culled from clear dime rolls. It is an older photo, and I've since added a few more tubes. I'm not a hardcore dime hunter. I do them casually to pass the time at the beach.

I have never found one dime in a box with clear rolls.. Good luck though.. I know other have had decent luck with them..

I remember that pic. Find it & repost it for the dime lovers & nonbelievers. I love the clear rolls! Effortless searching! I've found quite a few silvers in them.

Dawg if you get a bright enough light like fire you can simply melt the plastic off !

I remember that pic too, those were some nice ones, as I recall he said it was a filthy mess of Silver there too, lol. HH, Maverick.

The horizontal tubes are Mercs except for the Barber tube. The vertical tubes are all Rosies. I've since added 2 more tubes of Rosies and filled the remaining Merc tube and added another. It is an older pic (about 2 years old or longer(I can't remember)), but it makes a nice presentation.

Cleaning out my grandfather's estate, he kept everything if it had a use. He had the glass tubes (empty) in the back closet by his workbench. I've re-purposed them and it is a reminder when I see them.

The only dimes I get are in clear rolls. Average 1 silver per box. If you're finding any Canadian dimes, you've got a pretty good chance.

Now, as to the dimes, them clear boxes usually have skunks, and be very careful. dump bank's really hate to get the clear rolls, I mean, if they give you trouble now they'll plan on being even worse. Imagine waiting in line, then after waiting 10 minutes all the tellers put their next teller sign up; they'll know trouble when they see it coming.

Thanks everyone. I know the right light helps. I guess what you miss you would make up for in quantity.

I'll stick with the clears for a min. Maybe Incan use them for bargaining with other banks for coin. LoL

I have to disagree with 50Cent with regards to dump banks not liking the clear rolls. Not all banks have the same contract with couriers even under the same corporate umbrella. When it comes to supplying coin for their business customers, banks prefer the machine wrapped (either paper or plastic). Businesses do not want customer wrapped. Some banks particularly the large volume banks might have an unlimited boxed coin contract for a flat rate. Other smaller branches might have to pay per box.

I have managed to save a smaller branch money by supplying them with the clear wrapped dimes. 10 miles away is a branch that gets a delivery everyday at no additional cost beyond the flat rate. The smaller branch has to pay per box. I can keep them supplied so they don't have to order dimes. Win-Win.
