✅ SOLVED Clock piece?

Anyone have any ideas? Found at a spot which dates from 1850s until 1980s. It’s brass. Found in central Va.

Thank you, and pardon my ignorance, but by chance do you have an example to share? I’ve never seen one in person, and based off a limited amount of googling I’m not finding what you speak of.

Are any of the edges broken? It's hard to know where the shape was supposed to end. Could it be half of a drawer pull? Not this one, obviously, but one made in a similar way?

Interesting……hadn’t thought of that. I’ll look tomorrow. I don’t THINK it’s broken, but reserve right to change my opinion until after I look again.

Looked a few minutes ago, and it does appear the “ribbed” end was broken. With that we’re going with Robertk for the win…..pull handle off of some sort of furniture
