🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Buckle

Found this today. Assumed it was a piece of scrap and dropped it in the trash pouch. Was cleaning out pouch a few minutes ago and noticed it was a buckle….of some description. Any ideas?

Found in central va. Particular site has history from 1850s through today, but general area has history to early 1700s.

Possibly be a carbine sling buckle. If not that than maybe a sash buckle
