I went out with fellow TNetter, Kurt Stuben last night. We hit an area where some 1950s houses used to be. It has given up a few silvers, so I figured why not.

After a bit of hunting, I dug a scratchy higher tone, to my utter amazement, a little gold class ring appeared. I got so excited, it was perfect and as gold as could be... I excitedly showed Kurt, then examined it with the loop... and determined that it was actually a Girl Scout ring! And marked 10K Gold Filled. Whoever is responsible for the production of this little piece of trickery ought to be thrown in jail. It's just not right! It looks soooo real...

The real thrill of the evening was getting to watch Kurt dig his very first silver coin. It was like Christmas morning!

Thanks for looking and good luck on your hunts!

Nice digs. But it is real, Still a nice ring.

Man that's a slammer!, too bad on the gold filled, still cool though!!

I'd have jumped out of my boots on that find, Tom. After finding out it was crap, I'd have probably crawled under a pine tree and cried myself to sleep.

Higgy... it looked perfect coming out of the ground, about 4" deep, covered in dirt with brilliant gold shining through... I was really excited, then upon closer inspection... pop went the bubble. Dayum...

Wow, what a heartbreaker!!

Seeing I have yet to find a class ring I would have cried. I found a silver ring with gold plating so I know your pain.

On the bright side, it's still a ring and a pretty one at that. Congrats!!

I'm sure being there for Kurt's first ever silver coin help ease the ring pain...

You are getting close!

I guarantee the first word out of your mouth was.............................CRAP!:laughing7:

GOD Bless

Chris

Looks like the ones made in the 1960 to 64 range. Gotten 3 of them. Still makes a great collection piece of GS memorabilia.

Great find and probably collectible to the right person!
I wouldn't be disappointed!
