They actually look pretty good. Congrats on all those coppers! Hogge :headbang:

Those are fantastic pics! Just being able to read the date is a hard enough accomplishment... :icon_thumleft:

Great Job!

Looks fairly close. Appears to be only 3 varieties for that year and the others aren't close. Having the coin you can probably determine better than I can and if it's not a good match then by all means keep looking!

For the "1777" are you sure it's not 1775 with the middle of the 5 hard to see?

Another question... It doesn't happen to be Georgius, not Georgivs? Kinda looks like it.

Coinfacts only shows one listing for 1777 and I have a picture in my Breen which doesn't really look like your coin. On yours it's the more typical looking British bust so probably 1775 British/ctft Brit..

I agree it looks like a 5 and not a 7, looks more like a curve 5 portion showing, so that rules out the 7, besides not looking like any known 1777. As far as U in lieu of V, cannot say for sure either way from the photo.

When taking photos of coins that details are iffy on, shooting at an angle distorts numbers and letters and spacing which are looked at in trying to identify. I know it is harder to get the lighting correct for a direct overhead shot, but that does help in more accurate viewing of a coin that is in question.

Anyway, great going on all those coppers, would love to see better photos of all of them and always nice seeing a Machins Mills copper being found and posted. Congrats! :icon_thumright:

Great finds! Good to see them in that kind of condition. :hello2: I found one last week that was toast.

What a great pair of finds. Congrats to you! :icon_thumright:

Nice going on the coppers!

To add to what Don suggested, try taking your photos outdoors in the late afternoon. YOu will get amazing details this time of year from the sun being lower in the sky.
