I'll start my story by saying that every spare hour I have is spent digging in the ground. My son is in college,no more of his games to attend.Just digging every single piece of dirt I can find.It has been 7 months since I have had my DFX with a few good finds but only 6 or so wheat pennies and no Buffalo nickles.I have spent countless hours making my DFX into a bloodhound.
My wife and I just got married last year but we lived together for 6 years. We have spent most of that time moving ,stacking, boxing all of the stuff she has.(junk to me Gold to her). When she moved in she had a box that was a little on the heavy side. She told me it was her fathers arrowheads and some pennies he collected.(he passed away 8 years ago).I have since taken the arrowheads for ID and have a box to put them on display.Tonight I ask her let me look at the pennies he had maybe I could find some old ones to put with my Wheats. She just smiled and said ok. Well, take a look, it took my son and I two hours to look thru almost all the Wheats and the Buffalos, and we are not done. I LOVE MY WIFE
I spent all day looking thru all of the buffalos and found 1916,1918,1920,being the oldest. Many had the dates worn off. There were over 100 total nickels only 16 were put in the book. The rest were doubles or unreadable.
The pennies : I started at the 20s finding many duplicates but were able to use some.I then went to the 09 to 19 and found a 1913s and believe it or not a 1909 VDB !! I can not believe it.I am exhausted. Thanks for looking and all the positive input. The pics are not the best ,sorry.DAN
