coil problems

Hello everyone I am new to the forum and new to detecting and I am sorry if I have posted this in the wrong place .I have the At pro international and just brought the nel attack coil from that famous auction site . The problem I am having with the coil is I only have to touch the coil wire and the detector pings .I have turned the sensitivity all the way down and it still happens is there anything I can do or is the coil faulty .
