Can anyone come up with a type and date range for this? Found in about 1' of water. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1504581665.868482.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1504581682.553631.webp
It's probably Dutch but could really be anything.
Thanks!
Jeff

Clueless but, it does look like silver. With that unique shape I would think someone can get you a positive ID. Looks like it has a "bust" on it perhaps?

The bust looks English to me. Aruba was formerly occupied by the Spanish, then Dutch, then British. Likely one of them so that may narrow your search.

Feels to light to be silver. It has a right facing bust and it's small. Each of the eight sides feels scalloped to a small degree. I searched octagonal coins with no luck. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1504583202.161575.webp

Cool penny even if it is modern.

Cool, thanks Don!

Nice find!! Congrats and HH

The diameter of your coin (18.47mm) dictates its one cent denomination versus the US cent at 19mm.
The same images as yours, but with a diameter of 23.1, would be a five cent ECS coin.
Don.....

still a cool find and a pretty quick ID on it too

We should ALL go to Aruba to validate Don's analysis.

I woulda bet money that Don would be the guy to nail it and he did!
