Sounds like a 1/2 Reale. If it's a one, it will say 1R. Otherwise it's a half. Common as far as value, but good as far as finding.

It looks like a 1 Reale. Rite after the "m0" does it have a "1R".
I found one earlier this year.

after the (M0) it only has the F and the M.

--- the small "o" in the V of the M means mexico mint --- since the " R" meanshalf reale --( 1 R is 1 reale) --- its a 1789 carolus the III one half reale( dime size is a tip off too) -- mexico city mint with the mint asseyers F & M (their marks)-- Ivan

The coin should measure 18mm. This coin was minted between 1772 and 1789.
The silver content is .9027 fine. Some years ago, only two other coins of this series had a higher value. At that time, the values ranged from $7 (VG) to $40 EF. Hopefully, the values have increased substantially over the intervening years.
