Has anyone ever tried to use an 8 inch hemostat to remove a coin after you find it with the probe. I have one I'm working on I'm going to try out. I used shrink tubing on the tip to avoid damage to the coin. It seems like it should work. It almost seems to simple, thats what worries me.

Anyway, I made one tonight, will try it out tomorrow.

Yep, got one in the toolbox in the car. Just another one of many custom tools I've made that I always forget to throw in the tool belt or leave behind because I'm afraid I'll lose it. But it's a valid idea for a lot of applications.

Should work pretty good. If you have a Harbor Freight Tool Store around, they have them cheap! They are handy for numerous things around home or fishing or probably for recovering a probed coin. Good idea! Spotz

Never tried that. The plasti-dip sounds like a perfect solution though

Works great. Got the hemostat at a local flea market for 7 bucks. Stainless steel. Coated the ends using shrink tubing.

Find the coin with a probe, then reach in and get it.
