Coins and a few curios on walks in parking lots in Santa Fe

We spent Christmas in Santa Fe with our daughter and her family. I didn’t have a metal detector with me so when I did my morning walks I went to parking lots and looked for goodies while I was walking. I also checked the coinstar machines in the stores with very little success, just like home.

In the 8 mornings doing my one hour walks I found 70 coins with a face value of a nice round $3.50. There were a few interesting items, but nothing great. Several years ago after a snow storm I found a 10k gold ring with 6 tiny white sapphires in a parking lot and the next day found a silver ring inscribed with IF GOD BRINGS YOU TO IT HE WILL BRING YOU THROUGH IT in a different lot here at home. I’m always hoping for a repeat of those days, maybe later.

I did find one coin in the coinstar a Honduras 20 centavos. I also found one of the hard to find Lincoln bicentennial cents while walking.

I’m home now and ready to go out swingin. Hopefully I’ll have better luck with my detector. It has been almost a month since I last detected so I’ll probably be sore after the first few hunts (detector swingin muscles badly out of shape).
