I have a local Kroger that's not in the best of neighborhoods .... I've gotten a couple of silver dimes, tokens, mexican coins, canadian ... nothing just real awesome but this morning, 4 coins on top. One was a 'no cash value' token, one a chinese coin maybe? another was a school district coin and the 4th ??

1864 2 Cent .... first one I've ever held, not great shape but pretty easy to acquire :laughing7:

here is the Japanese / Chinese coin - anyone know anything about it ? ( I deleted the photos - no use to post photo's of a newer yen right ??)

the little coin I think is a school district lunch token - those haven't been given out in decades (I don't know what the 21 stand for )

I think its just a modern 10 yen or yan. :icon_scratch: I can't remember how you spell it or say it. :dontknow: 21 likely stands for the city district the school was in. That token is older than the yen good find. :headbang: That 2 cent though is an awesome find, don't find those detecting very often let alone finding one in a coin star !!

Keep @ it and HH !! :hello2:

Ditto on what Mud(S.W.A.T) said. Modern Japanese 10 Yen coin, I lived over there for three years. Awesome 2-center, still hoping to find my first soon. Nice!

That is sweet! I guess this is something I'm going to have to start doing as well. You have piqued my interest, wow. Congrats! It's funny, seeing a copper that is not green seems unusual to me now!

Just imagine what actually got into the coinstar if that 2 cent piece was mixed in with that lot. :laughing7:

I wonder just how many unusual / odd / old coins go through ? I wonder if people who run those machines check ?
