CoinStar theft is illegal in all states

That is some crazy stuff...pretty great lengths some will go to...I have not run into that yet...should we be checking for stuffed sock balls now? :).
I always run my fingers under the lip which was how I found the sock. I especially check when I know it's a heavy producing machine that suddenly appears to dry up. Could be the case but that gets me suspicious.

One more tip I can utilize
Thanks 👍

Yup me too
Mine are going into the CareNet Baby Bottle Campaign again this year. Except for the foreign ones, and the old ones, and the silver ones, and oh yeah, the gold one. Along with all the clad from detecting.

What is better a clean or dirty sock?
I'd say a dirty sock. Peg Bundy once used one of Al's socks--fresh off his foot to get out of paying for a fancy meal after the kids split to go to a concert instead of bringing the money that was left at home. Scum of the Earth, I think the band was. It was almost a crime scene at that restaurant. I've kept that nugget in the back of my mind in case I ever need to make a getaway.

I do recall that episode....yes, it was Scum of the Earth. :)

I never watched one episode. Seen clips of different scenes though.

You've missed one of the jewels of television, then. As someone who is interested in treasure hunting, you should at least see the two part episode where the Bundy's stumble on to a gold mine. Al offers to trade his hoopty Dodge to an old prospector for mining equipment. The money quote from the prospector: "Dodge is a damn fine car. Ran over my wife with a Dodge." Al ponders it, then figures he can always buy another one and the deal is done.

You've appealed to my obsessive compulsive side...now I'm checking for socks!

I always wondered where my socks that disappear in the wash go to! Now I know!

The guess here is that within three days, there would be hundreds of coins backed up, worth tens of dollars. Results will vary by location, but in a week at most, the reject tray would be overloaded.

I found $24.76 once, plus some coppers and a wheatie I set aside. Now I'm wondering if there might have been some monkey business going on. I've never come close to finding that much again.

I always wondered why the called it a Dodge, when in fact it was a Plymouth. Very funny show though!
