Cold morning

A freezing morning at the airfield I'm working at. I'd like to have the same pic from 70 years ago when the planes would have been Spitfires

Yes it is ww11 and I think your right about the Hurricanes as Hammered is researching it looking for pics as we
speak

I'm refurbishing one of the hangars and this was taken just outside.

We had a guest in the hangar with us at the start of the job. He broke down on the way to an air show

An engine is just expensive...very, very expensive. But available! The fuselage is much more valuably... if a damage happens there.....

It was taken about 150 yards from where I was(inside the hangar) and it was deafening

Looking out my office window it looks very, very similar. Even the weather. But a 70 year old photo would rather show Messerschmitts, a 30 year old photo would show MIGs.

Boy~o~boy is that sound track music!

I used to work near where there was a couple P-51's hanger'ed near by flown once or twice a weak,
and that was always the highlight of my day!

Those old RR Merlin's always made some beautiful music!
