Colonial Axe Head and a Ring

Found in North Charleston during Hurricane Florence. I'm not sure what the other items are...any idea on the red material?

After some years of research, I believe the Axe head is ~1690-1720 French Colonial axe head with a 7" broad. The design is unique. Thank you everyone for your help in identification. For a side note: Does anyone have knowledge in authentic mint coin presses? I would love to see original dies. Thank you
