hi all quick hunt today! i had to drive to hingham today to pick something up from craigslist and i was driving very close to some old stomping grounds. so i decided to try out a 4x6 shooter cool (man that thing is small) i knew of a spot out in the woods that i couldnt touch before with the big coil because of all the party trash. well it was the little coil that could! i was able to seperate the trash from good. i got a colonial buckle intact. the only other thing i found was a musket ball that hit a tree. the small coil got right in the cruch of the tree. was a quick hunt but fun. willy

looks tinned as well, never had a complete one of this type only bits.

Nice Buckle Willy, looks like a late 1600's or early 1700's buckle and whole too.:headbang: Keep up the ground a pound on that site! :laughing9: I'd think there would be some more goodies there for sure. Anyway great little hunt you had. :icon_thumleft: :icon_thumright:

VERY nice buckle.

Sure beats the buckle fragments I usually find. Finding a fully intact colonial buckle is very tough to do these days.

Great job !!!

No its 1600-1700 date range (hence the tinning common in this period)

Yes no.20 is the closest, this one is just a variant from that timeframe.

Very nice buckle, should display nicely. :icon_thumright:

Finest example of an 18th century buckle dug in the U. S. that I have seen posted on here !! :notworthy: My sincere applause and congradulations !! MaineRelic.

Now that is a nice buckle. Hope to see it when it's all cleaned up. Should look real sharp! Got to love those hit and runs. Just makes you want to stay there for another 1/2 day or two........
