I got out with the two dedicated detectorist nephews. Colonial Kirk Pa, Colonial Zoyboy and Colonial Silver Zeus were quivering with anticipation all week with what was still waiting at Kyles latest research site that we began 7 days ago. We all remember what a day that was. Bam, Bam,Bam. Three Coppas in 30 minutes for me today. Two confirmed King George III's. The other one is a counterstamped large Coppa. I can't make out what it was before the counterstamp though. Oh well it is a very unique find nonetheless. Many relics and a mountain of broken pottery. 5 colonial buttons and 2 Injuns. The one injun is a 1864 AU condition. The other looks like a 1888. I'm not sure because I only glanced at it and said very Johnny Walter like " I'll be damned". Ole J.W. would have approved of this site even though he probably wouldn't have done this site because of his River stipulation. No river here folks.
Kirk topped off my gas tank as usual and Kyle never ceases to amaze with his on the spot research. I won't steal my partners thunder but I will say that we all left that place believing in a detectorists heaven.

The counterstamped coin is a confirmed Draped Bust Largie (30 minutes in my tumbler)

Fantastic finds, Chris!

That's quite a spot your nephew found!
Can't wait to see what you dig up there next!

Thanks Kev. It is definitely a sweet spot for sure. That's the second counterstamped large cent I ever found. Makes it a special find.

Sounds like you had fun while digging for those old coppa's!

Very nice. They all look in decent condition too. :icon_sunny: It's awesome when those old sites produce coins in addition to the buttons and such.
