Dudes, Paco gave me a call today, "Dude, do you want to hit the super duper farm tonight?" Hmmm....would I turn down the offer? Hell no! I have the coppa fever right now, so I would be his sidekick for the day. A great sidekick, too, for the treasure seeking day. During detecting, I can offer volumes of entertainment. Well, I don't even have to state that fact again. You dudes already know my antics. All in all, Paco and I make the best detecting team. We enjoy each other's company to the fullest and seek oooold treasure at the same time. I, seriously, owe it all to him. He is always great at seeking out those super productive sites. He has done it many times before.
To get to the hunt, we were driving by the meadow where we had found some old coins last week....Carl had chopped the grass down super low. Thanks to his farmerly duties, I shouted, "Dude, we MUST!" Well, must we did, and did we detect. hehehe
About a half hour into the seeking, I got a jumpy "Copper" reading, but being the professional that I am...hehehe...I thought, "At the angle of the pinpoint, and null of the threshold, I, henceforth, conclude that this semi-jumpy sig must be a coppa on edge. But, if I swing my detector super fast across the hole, hmmm...it totally desists from being an evident coppa sig. Wellllll, dude, dig it!" So, dig I did, and coppa I dug. I yelled, "Large copper!" In the field, it looked to be the size of a half cent, but later, after sizing up the coin to others in the Red Book, Zoy and I are concluding that it probably is a Colonial. The coin is much thicker than an American half cent...plus, it is a little larger in diameter than a half cent. It looks to be an oooold British coppa. Maybe Don in SJ (another historical state) will be able to see some details to identify it.
After the coppa, I didn't dig nothing. Wow, I love these double negatives. hehehe So, we were done for the day.
Oh, Paco, using his back-up detector, the Classic ID, and still found a nice 1887 V-nickel. I stated, "Dude, just wait until your MXT comes in....you will be even more lethal!"
This is most likely my 7th 1700s coin this year. I love this hobby...so, when my jealous family members tell me to, "Get a life," I will tell them to, "Get a HOBBY!" hehehe

The coin could possibly be a William III coppa. That would be late 1600s-early 1700s. The coin weighs about 9.19 grams.
