I got back to one of my favorite old sites last weekend. The signals are getting sparse, and I've cleaned out the old coppers, but there's still enough to warrant returning when I have the time. I dug a lot of deep, low to mid-range signals including the dreaded beaver tail signals. Right away I got a couple of buttons; nothing spectacular, but it still gave me hope.

After digging quite a few pieces of foil, pull-tabs and buttons, I got a deep double signal that usually results in a broken beaver-tail pull-tab. I was surprised to find a lead bale seal in the plug. Luckily I re-scanned the hole with my coil before covering it up, because I got another deep signal, this one just a bit higher- more in the Indian Head range on my T2. It was in the side of the hole, so I used my Lesche to dig a plug out of the side, and while I did I caught a glimpse of thin silver. I was thinking it was another half reale, but was pleasantly surprised to see this beautiful silver cuff-link!

I stuck around for a while longer and got a similar signal and dug the 1882 Indian a few more buttons and a tiny piece of unidentifiable silver.

This is my THIRD colonial silver cuff-link. Unfortunately, this one is incomplete. My other two were found 20 or 30 yards from each other a few years back and are completely intact!

Congrats on the colonial silver. Those cuff links are really cool, and the fact that you have several, is all the better.

Very well played sir!

Congrats on the beautiful colonial cufflink Neil, I know you must be super pleased with it. This latest one also looks to have the dogwood flower design engraved on it. That must have been a very popular design in its day, because they seem to turn up pretty frequently.

Neil I am in love with the silver links. I suppose my half real link counts but I want a nice hand engraved set like yours. Beautiful piece. Take that over Spanosh in a heartbeat

Ironically, it was found near the base of a huge Dogwood!

What a hunt Neil  That silver link is amazing and looks great with your other silver links. I've been on a bit of a Colonial cufflink streak lately, but they've all been base metal.... man I'd love to dig one of those silver ones. Great job man.

That silver cuff link is sweet! .... as are the other ones you've found. Never pulled a silver one out myself but i'd be pleased as punch if I did. Congrats.
