Colonial forum anyone?

I wouldn't limit the new forum to any specific geographic area of North America.........
Folks back then kept their tools and belongings for many more years than the disposable society we have been accustomed to. Items were cared for and repaired when necessary. Those items were transported from east to west as the nation grew and are likely to be found in many areas of the country towards the Ohio Valley and Mississippi River frontiers and, possibly, beyond.............

Thanks for chiming in Chizzy. I don't think anybody here mentioned limiting the geographical area of the finds. And you're right, things were kept and reused, and some did travel. Some colonial item were used and reused well past the era.

Great discussion. I'm still a newbie to Tnet compared to most of you, but what about a forum simply called "Early North American Relics". You can limit it to relics before X year. I would suggest that the date be pre-civil war since there is already a forum for that. Whatever happens, I look forward to participating. Great idea.

Great feedback guys. The one constant is that people sound excited about it. I know I am

Maybe we should just start posting the stuff here and then they can shift em over. 8-)

Last year, someone came up with the idea to start a thrift store forum, separate from the garage sales threads....and it was created about two minutes later.
What's the hold up?

It was several weeks between when suggestion was first received by mod and thrift store forum was put up, it has been 5 days since suggestion for Colonial forum was first made.

It's been well over 200 years Dave, what's the rush brother? Lol. I'm glad to hear you're into the idea and are as excited as I am. It'll be good. A lot of great ideas and suggestions have been brought up since Brad started the thread and hopefully we'll hear some more.

Cool, thx for the info. Is there anything else we can add or need to discuss before the moderators make a decision?

How do we get the request submitted to them? Do we need more feedback or votes?

A place to share your finds and discuss this interesting time frame and share information.

to be added between Fur Trade & Bottles & Glass. Still waiting for Response.
