Hello all! I got out to one of my favorite colonial sites yesterday. It was tough hunting but I did pull out a few more goodies. I found 4 flat buttons. One has an American eagle (notice the olive branch & arrows). This is definitely my favorite flat button to date. It is probably American made. CannonballGuy dated it to 1815-1830. I also got what I believe to be a fragment of a brass colonial shoe buckle, an iron buckle and a thimble. I also found an item which I think is pewter but I have no clue what it was (item with penny). I dug a lot of iron as well, including the axe head (this was in an adjoining field to colonial site). It was a fun day & I got to save some history! Today I hit a 1880s house (pretty much a mansion) and got 4 measly wheaties... I also got a few other odds & ends but not really worth posting. I just knew thus house was going to be loaded but unfortunately it was a bust...
