Colonial Knife Blade & Button

Last Sunday I went to an old site Ive done in the past.The owners cows graze there so the grass was really down to nothing. During the Rev. war a home stood here and I know the owner was killed in a battle not to far away. Not much info after that and no maps showing the house was ever there.
Not much for finds but I did manage this awesome knife blade. Missing the handle of course it's about 7 inches long and still has a sharp edge to it. Anyone seen this type of blade before ? Any info on it would be nice.
Also found a pretty decent pewter button.
Plan on going back and hitting the site hard this weekend.

The 18th C Knifes I have seen tend to be pointy at the end & not the same of yours, but fingers crossed, keep searching.
