Went to a spot ive been finding shoe buckles, flat buttons,and old copper coins. Got a good tone, dug it , and seen this in the hole! I hope its real! I have been digging this spot for about 8 months on and off. No silver and no jewelry until now! It looks about 4or 5 carat . I still cant beleive it... 20161124_123047.webp20161124_095146.webp

Hi, just echoing what others have said, Ruby is a very hard stone and likely would not scratch like that. Would also have a more saturated color. That being said, it is a fantastic find given its age. I also adore the buckle fragment, so ornate! Congrats. -Lisa
