Yesterday I was in the library pouring through the old maps. I came across one, of the lumber camp I hunt, that I'd never seen before. It vaguely showed a blacksmith shop. This morning it took me about 30 mins to locate it. Check out the horseshoes they used in the winter here in the rockies, would hate to have been kicked by it :laughing9: !!!! Can not wait to go back and see what other relics pop out . Hope everyones day is going good !

I found a spot like that...finding old anvil parts and other relics. It led to finding seated coins, so keep at it!

Coinhunter, last summer I found my first seated at the lumber camp it was a half dollar,1877,CC mint mark. looking for more !

Looks like you found the "pull offs". In the picture they look to be to heavy duty to be hoof nippers. The pull offs were for pulling the old shoes off the foot.
And yes, those are ice caulks, pronounced "corks."

cool relics. I like that horseshoe

Neat finds.. Hopefully the spot gives up some more good finds..HH

nice finds congrats HH

Congrats on your find. Research pays off. Love the shoe. I've found a few but yours is an outstanding purpose made shoe.
