Rare 8 shot Colt rifles are said to have sunk in a river,in their zinc line greased filled cases, about 1830,30 in all,but ya never know could be more or less...if they havent been located this sounds like a good treasure to search for, as it is inland and may be no more than 30ft down .

I read about those years ago and read as much as I could. I think from my recollections they were thrown overboard due to being pursued??

It would be cool to find them!!!

I think I have enough imformation to search the approximate location, I plan on searching for these Colts soon. If they havent been picked already they would make a nice historic find, and bring decent auction prices.

If you haven't been out to search or have not found anything I will be in Florida in a few days and I would love to tag along. Just let me know through a pm or a reply if you would like to join forces and explore.

This story has already been posted and the conclusion is that there is nothing there, except a good story! Im too lazy to go through all the threads, but its here, somewhere, maybe in one of the Fla treasure stories.
