I don't know, but seems like it would polish up nicely in a rock tumbler!

Well thanks! Need to acquire one of them eventually. Bunch of beautiful rocks around the banks of the Columbia!

It's a porphyry. Chinese writing stone. Porphyry's works up pretty nice with diamond tools. Here's a bannerstone I made from a similar type of porphyry. Gary
