That is pretty tame on what I would wish on my worst enemy. You are a better human than I am. Then again, I cannot think of a single true enemy so all is well hopefully.
You are still lucky. you are still alive, hopefully you have got good insurance, if you do, cheer up you get all new stuff, almost. Honestly though, sorry for your loss, glad you made it. out.
Thanks for your kind thoughts. no need to worry tho. the neighbor's kid started breaking in and stealing stuff to make methamphetamine $$ last summer. so i moved me and all my stuff out. i set up a shop in stockton, where all my tools and equipment are safe. safe from the thieving dope fiend, i thought. had no idea the big fire was coming this summer. i was pissed last summer, but now i see if that hadn't happened, i would have lost everything.
as for the house, i never liked it and was going to tear it down to make room for a small modular. only thing that stopped me, was all the work. now all i have to do is rent a dumpster and a backhoe for a couple of days and the tear-down's done.
that 'comet' came rolling down the hill from a neighbor's property. i had no idea it was up there. i guess it was kept from rolling down the hill by a log or piece of wood. when the wood burned down it came. it's a 4 foot diameter, hollow steel ocean buoy. must weight a ton or better. how it got from the ocean or bay to calaveras county is a mystery. i've owned that house for years now and when i was living there the 'comet' never came rolling down the hill to flatten my a$$.
now you know the rest of the story. all my friends in mountain ranch still think i'm lucky
Well, at least it could have been filed with pirate treasure or something interesting. Glad you didn't lose everything and hope you had some insurance to help with the rebuild.
