Does anyone have access to a link or possibly a book that is specefically written on how to grade commerative half dollars.. Any advice would be much appreactiated.
While your looking.. Was wondering what you guys think this 1925 stone mountain would grade at ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1426980947.855042.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1426980966.620369.webp

I would think very few of the commemerative halves would have been circulated. Rather than showing any wear, I think their problem would just be dirt, determined by how and where they were stored. A few may have been carried for luck or used in jewelry and have wear. But I think most just laid somewhere.

You could try putting the question to the Google search box - It sure seems to know a lot ! There may well be a book dedicated to
the original commemorative series - check Amazon.com as well . Nice coin , how did you come across it ?

The Stone Mountain Memorial coin was, perhaps, the highest minted of the commemoratives; over 1.3m.
PCGS population of this coin in MS 60 or above is 11,063; topped by only one other commem. with a MS 60 or better pop. of 11,064.
Don.....

Why not have it professionally graded?

Not worth spending the money to get graded on that coin. You would need to be a member for PCGS and NGC and a minimum of 5 coins for ANACS. Price for PCGS is $30 or so if you are a member. I would keep it raw, grading would not bring up the value much on your coin.

I'm guessing AU-55, $40 or so.
