This was found in a basement in Fredericksburg,Virginia that was being remodeled under the floors... Appears too be pewter. It has 76 on it.. Commemorative piece made in the 19th century of 1776??

Googled G.C. 76 and C.G.76 and nothing came up that pertained to your piece. I wonder if it is a piece off of a graduation tassel for a local school. You might check the local schools in area for those initials 1976.

Thank you bunch!!! It was found under the floor in a basement that was being remodeled of a late 19th century house. Last time this floor was replaced was in the 1920s.. Could very well be from 1976 though. Thanks for the input! and best wishes!
